Training guidelines

New Zealand Rugby has developed guidance for Clubs and Schools on how to safely proceed with training activities under the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

It is important to familairise yourself with these guidelines to ensure our rugby environments are safe for all those involved.

  • Please advise anyone who is unwell and experiencing symptoms such as a cough, sore throat, fever, fatigue or shortness of breath, to not attend trainings.
  • Take a ‘get in, train/play, get out’ approach to training - minimising unnecessary contact in change rooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
  • At Red, facemasks are mandatory and must be worn at all rugby gatherings at all times when not participating.
  • Ensure maximum possible ventilation in all training environments. Try to conduct as much activity as possible in outdoor settings that allow for social distancing. When indoors, ensure ventilation of the defined space is maximised. There should be no shared ventilation between defined spaces and no crossover between groups.
