Secondary Schools Workshops

Our Secondary Schools Workshops instruct and further develop administrators that deliver the game in this area.

With over 32,000 teenage participants in New Zealand, Secondary School rugby forms a crucial part of our national game and the positive influence that our administrators can create for the participant is one that New Zealand Rugby actively supports. By instructing our administrators on how to lead, design and implement their school program the aim is to improve the player, coach, and manager experience within the Secondary School game.

Topics of the Secondary Schools Workshops can include the following:

  • Designing a Rugby Development Plan
  • Building capability and capacity within your school rugby programme
  • Growing girls rugby
  • Working with the teenage participant
  • Administrative support
  • Growing rugby coaches
  • The Rugby Way

The workshop agenda is flexible and with the support of Provincial Unions can be tailored to the specific needs of schools and their playing demographic, geographical size, and various participant formats.
